Located in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Black Jade Midi Suite/Recording Studio was started by Daniel Hewson in 2008 and offers the singer-song writer a creative haven of expertise.
Producer/Engineer/Composer/Multi-instrumentalist Daniel Hewson started composing at age 13 with a guitar, piano and bass whilst developing a keen interest in recording. Starting with tape decks, reel to reel, and digital 4 tracks, he now uses Logic Pro 9 with a wide range of audio software. Daniel has become an experienced sound engineer who offers initial recording as well as mixing and mastering.

He specialises in performing the music to a very high level of technical expertise. Being a consumate and exciting guitar soloist, he is masterful with jazz, reggae, R&B, soul and fusion. His bass playing offers the smooth tight grooves necessary for the foundation of all great music, specialising in fretless electric bass guitar. Daniel is also a competent keyboard player, adding tasteful voicings and stylish layers which give class and depth to the compositions. Not only is Daniel a highly proficient and original musician in his own right, he is a true expert when it comes to programming beats for his clients, which is highly desirable in today’s music.
